BRIEF HISTORY
Internationals Soccer Club was established in 1976 as an outlet for
players who had graduated from college with a desire to continue to
play competitively. Soon to follow was the Internationals women's program
which competed at the national level within two years. The boys program
was launched in 1985. Today, Internationals Soccer Club, comprised of
more than twenty-two teams, is one of the finest and most dynamic youth
soccer clubs in the country. The teams consists of players throughout
Northeast Ohio.
PHILOSOPHY
Key to Internationals' success is the club's ability to mold distinguished
athletes, exemplary students and upstanding young adults. The program
emphasized skill, tactical awareness, confidence, determination, sportsmanship,
team play, character development, and academic excellence. These aspirations
are fostered through a professional coaching staff who is dedicated
to each team and each player as they work together towards shared goals.
PROGRAM
Internationals has become synonymous with playing, coaching, and organizational
excellence. The club has provided professional coaching to Ohio athletes
for over twenty years. The club also offers year-round specialty goalkeeping
and footskills training. Internationals has given the area's young soccer
athletes the opportunity to excel and compete locally, nationally and
worldwide. Many of our players participate in State, Regional, and National
Olympic Development Programs, and more than 94% of Internationals' graduates
go on to play soccer at many of this nation's finest universities. Several
players have advanced to professional, and national ranks.
EXPOSURE
Internationals' players have a tremendous amount of national exposure,
both on the Olympic Development and college levels. The club's reputation
for excellence proceeds it wherever and whenever it competes. Internationals'
policy of placing and playing top-ranked students and players is well-known
throughout the USA and abroad. The club draws attention!! Each year,
the U17 and U18 teams are seen by top college coaches as they attend
the nation's elite college showcases.
SUCCESS
Internationals teams have won more State Titles, Regional Titles, and
Indoor National Titles than any other club in Northern Ohio. Internationally,
in 2000 our U16 boys won the prestigious Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden
which hosts over 1400 teams from 62 countries. Also, our U13, U15 and
U16 boys competed against top European clubs to win the Alpen Cup in
Wolfsberg, Austria.
