Club Happenings ~ August 2007
- August was a light month as far as club activities. Hopefully, you all used the time to rest and regenerate your bodies and minds!! Now, it's back to school and back to soccer!
- Pre Season Camp U10-U14 at NC Soccer, August 22-24, 25-26: Although our camp was delayed due to some rough weather we got off to a great start for the fall season with 5 days of good quality soccer! It was great to see you all back on the field and to welcome our newest members.
- Club Challenge U10-U14 Toledo, Ohio August 26: All of our teams traveled to Toledo for friendlies against GTFC and Ft Wayne Fever. The results were great (10-1-1 record overall) but more importantly every player got a chance to play in good, quality matches and we came away with some areas for improvement & development.

Nutrition: FIFA's Nutrition For Soccer Booklet
"The food and drink that players choose to consume can affect how they perform in sport
and help them to stay fit and healthy. All players
should choose food wisely to help achieve their
goals in sport.
We must also remember the important social and cultural aspects of eating and the pleasure
that we gain from food. A healthy diet that is good for performance can also be a source of
enjoyment.
FIFA is committed to helping all players to
achieve their goals. This booklet is part of
that commitment."

Player Spotlight
The ENTIRE CLUB!
Instead of focusing on one player this month, we would like to congratulate you all on the success of last year (September 07-July 08). Each and every player, coach, manger, parent, sibling, etc had a hand in our success. Read past newsletters for a recap of the year. The year stared with friendlies and league play in the fall and was capped off by a fine showing at state cup and regionals. The following documents illustrate how we stack up against the rest of the state in State Cup and Regional competition:
Reminders
- Tactical Document: Everyone should review the club's tactical document that you should have received from your manger. Each and every player and coach must be familiar with the content of the document. We must all be on the same page!! No excuses!!
- Club Warm-Up: Coaches and Players (U10-U14) should be following our club warm-up for every game/event. No exceptions!!
- Stay in touch with your big/little sisters! If you would like to be partnered with a big sister, contact your manager for details!
- Juggle Club - stay sharp by getting touches on the ball! Click here for more IJC Info.
