Proper training and preparation are critical to a player’s success on and off the field. Our players can all tell you that we stress "deep practice or “perfect practice” and that proper training is the groundwork for accomplishing positive outcomes on the field.
Our club’s training philosophy centers around the four components of the game (Technical, Tactical, Physical, Psychological) with an emphasis on each player’s ability to interpret the game’s demands. All of this is accomplished though team-based training as well as targeted skill sessions and functional training (U14 and above).
Our club training is broken down by age categories with each age group focused on accomplishing different developmental goals. Players at all levels are trained by some of the best coaches in the country who use the game of soccer to help them become successful in all areas of their life.
The Internationals Development System consists of Multiple levels. The goal of the program is to ensure that each level is connected, thus giving players ample opportunity to develop and advance within each level and throughout the system. | |
ISC Juniors: U5-U8
ISC Juniors is a semi-structured and FUN learning environment with a focus on fostering a love for the game, individual technical skills/coordination, teamwork and fair-play. Sessions are once per week for 8 weeks.
- The Juniors’ Program will use the concept of ‘player pools’ rather than a team system. The ‘player pool’ method has been a success with young boys and girls in many of the world’s top clubs. The player pools are not selected at a tryout but will be made up of anyone who wants the best developmental opportunities for their children.
- Each age group will practice in groups where we encourage all of our players to be creative when playing soccer, to play without any fear of making mistakes, use imagination and to express themselves positively on the soccer field. Players can practice and play with older players to get an extra challenge and all players are evaluated throughout the year to make sure they are developing.
ISC Youth Academy: U8-U10
The ISC Youth Academy focuses on the development of every individual player instead of teams at these young ages. Players will train twice per week and have one league game per week. Sessions last 8 weeks.
Players are placed in player pools which are made up of anyone who wants the best developmental opportunities for their child. There are no tryouts and no team system. The emphasis at this age level is individual ball skills and creativity, rather than winning.
ISC Youth: U10-U14
Players at this level are assigned to teams according to their ability to respond to the game’s demands. After the tryout process, ISC Directors will evaluate the competitive level of each player and assign them accordingly. The Internationals Red teams compete at the highest level, followed by the Internationals Blue and Internationals White. Players are re-evaluated throughout the season and player movement may occur at the designated times during the seasonal year.
Players train a minimum of twice per week in addition to league games and tournaments.
There are generally four sessions (fall, winter 1, winter 2 and spring) plus a summer session for some players.
- Fall session: August-October
- Winter sessions: November-March
- Spring session: April-June
- Summer session (U13 and older): mid-June-July
